cream kri:m. ME. A noun. 1. The part of milk with high fat content, which collects at the top of the milk and which by churning is made into butter. 2. A fancy dish or pudding of which cream is an ingredient, or which has the appearance and consistency of cream. 3. The most excellent element or part; the most outstanding group of people within a larger group; the quintessence. 4. The part of a liquid that gathers at the top; a head of scum, froth, etc. 5. The liquid rich in droplets or particles of the dispersed phase that forms a separate (esp. upper) layer in an emulsion or suspension when it is allowed to stand or is centrifuged. 6. A creamlike preparation used cosmetically or medicinally. 7. A British pioneer rock band. 8. Cream colour; the colour of the cream of milk, a yellowish white.
